Myrto Kasioumi is a postdoctoral researcher at the QSMS Research Centre of Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME). Prior to this role, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the Paris School of Economics and a Policy Analyst at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). She also served as a research fellow at the University of Bologna during the final year of her PhD, which she completed at the University of Guelph in Canada under the supervision of Dr. Thanasis Stengos in 2023. She holds a Master’s degree in Economic Analysis and a Bachelor’s degree in Economic Science, both from the University of Ioannina in Greece.
Her doctoral dissertation explored both the traditional Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) of pollution and a novel EKC framework that incorporates recycling, combining empirical analysis with macroeconomic theoretical models. Her research interests include .
In her free time, Myrto enjoys cooking, reading books, doing jigsaw puzzles, playing video games, and taking dance classes.
